  1. 1. J1 TEAMS

As in the past, we will continue to welcome individual volunteers at the Tue. J1 Café. We still really need lots of volunteers! That said, in VBJ1 2016, we intend to improve our effectiveness in bringing Jesus’ love to visiting internationals by forming a few special teams to address some of the challenges of our outreach.

Maybe for you it is a bit overwhelming to think about just wading into the family center packed with 400 internationals, but what about joining a team of 6-8 people who will be creating and implementing a plan to help internationals connect with an American family? What about joining a team that uses your gifts in photography or videography? What teams are being considered?

  • Family Connection Team
  • Bike Team
  • J1 Café Outreach Team
  • Bible Study Team (Traditional and Experimental)
  • Media Team
  • Trip Team

On Thu., April 14 @ 7pm,  The Chapel will host a “Team Formation Nite” where teamleaders will present their vision and discussion will follow that will help you decide if you’d like to apply. Team members will enjoy special equipping, cross-cultural mentoring and coaching in teamwork.

  1. 2. J1 MENTORING

This summer, VBJ1 ministry will be focusing attention on deepening its impact through mentoring. Think about it—would you like to have someone to come along side to encourage and coach you for a few months?  Mentoring will include spiritual formation, cross-cultural skills, people skills, and teamwork.

Thu., May 12th @ 7pm will be “Find a J1 Mentor Nite” here at the Chapel.  This event will include help in finding a mentor, coaching topics, and explanations concerning mentor-mentee expectations.
