- What is the most excruciating pain you've ever experienced?

- Who are these symbolic characters in the Rev. 9 drama?

- Identify each:

"the fallen star? (Lk 10:18, Isa 14:12)

"God"

"Abbadon/Apollyon"  v11

"God's sealed" and "men not sealed"

Others?

- What events follow the sounding of the 5th trumpet?

- How do these events compare with plagues of Ex 7-7/Joel 2: 1-11?

Revelation is Mysterious

Revelation is Meaningful

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Who is the author of Rev?  What do you know about him?

Since John was with Jesus three years, why would he fall at his feet now (v17)?

What is revealed about Jesus?  Why does God want Jesus know as "Word," "Alpha & Omega," and other titles?

Close your eyes while a member reads 1:12-18.  What is an encounter with the resurrected Jesus like?

What is this book all about?

After hearing Pastor Rich's sermon, in what ways is the book of Revelation: misunderstood, messianic, mysterious and meaningful?

In what ways do you anticipate an encounter with the resurrected Jesus?

MISSIONAL TREASURE HUNT

Jesus has placed us here, and he stands in our midst.

We are the lampstand in our city.

- Identify your ‘city’ – an area of focus for your group over the next 8 weeks.  This is likely the neighborhood of the home you most often meet in.  Draw a map of your city’s streets, natural boundaries, etc.

- This is your ‘missional map’.  We will fill it in a little each week.

- Map your regular places (homes, schools, frequented stores, etc)

- Who is in your neighborhood? Name and map as many people as you can by name.

NEXT WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE

“To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat

from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” Rev 2:7b

Revelation of the democracy has been good for all forms of the society. The challenge of the governance and assignment writers for hire has been identified for the strength of the future moments. The possibility is done for the future times.
